• Some changes to the hair regimen

As your hair changes I am a firm believer that your hair regimen should as well.

The things that I used in 2010 don't work on my hair now & the styles I used don't look good on my hair anymore. So I am just going to share a couple things that I have changed that I believe are helping my hair to continue to grow & stay healthy.

NUMBER 1!

I have stopped using shampoo every time I wash my hair. And contrary to belief that is absolutely okay. Shampoo does nothing but strip your hair. Hair need moisture and TONS of it. I probably use shampoo once a month and make sure through my co washes the other weeks that I get my hair and scalp clean.

NUMBER 2!

I have stopped doing twist outs on wet hair. I always end up looking like a wet dog. Now that my hair has grown and it getting thicker by the minute the drying process it a lot longer for my twist outs and I never like them. I twist my hair with a minuscule amount of water. I'm talking barely damp and put water on the ends to make sure they curl and leave it at that. I've been getting WONDERFUL results with this method.

NUMBER 3!

I only use product in my hair once a week. An overload of anything cannot be good. As with product. Not only does product on top of water add to your drying process it tends to make your hair heavy and it most likely wont give you the results that you are looking for. So on wash night make sure you use a decent conditioner, and good moisturizer, and seal with a good oil and you should be fine until next wash week.

NUMBER 4!
I have started to use more natural products. At first I really didn't care, but now as I approach my 2nd year!!! (WOOP WOOP) I do. I've switched to Aloe Vera shampoo, and the Jane Carter line, and using a lot more of the Shea moisture products. I do feel some difference but have only been doing so for about a month so it's a little too soon to tell.

NUMBER 5!

My diet has changed. A lot of times we focus on our hair and what we put on it but not what we put in our bodies. Our hair is and extension of us. If you put good things in, you will get good things out. Remember that. WATER, WATER, WATER & Lots of fresh veggies & fruits.

Just a picture of my night time maintenance. Water on the ends and a satin bonnet does the trick.
