• Updated Havana Twists

This is my third Havana Twist post as it is my fav go to protective style. Each time I do them they look better and better, well at least in my opinion they do. Since the first post, I have learned how to do the invisible root method which makes the twists look a lot more natural. I normally only make it 4-5 weeks with my twists, only because I begin to miss my curls but you can make them last however long you would like, just note with the invisible root method there is a little more slippage, well at least I've noticed more in my hair than opposed to the normal begin each twist as a braid method.

I purchased 6 packs of marley braiding hair from my local beauty supply store at about 7 bucks a piece. Using only two pieces of the braiding hair per twist, I used about 4.5 for the complete style. The process itself only took about 3 hours to complete and I twisted them using Eco Styler Olive Oil gel and a bit of jam to hide my fly aways. I made sure to seal in my moisture and use a creamy product as I let my hair air dry before I began.

I started them on dry stretch freshly washed hair and washed them once a week due to my workout regiment. The first week I used the Organic Root Simulator Herbal Cleanse and the next I did full head wash and continued to alternate back and forth. After each wash, I would tighten up my edges as necessary.

The video that I used to learn the invisible roots method was on the My Natural Sistas Youtube channel if you want to give it a try!

Enjoy!
