Hello my Naptural Beauties! I am here with something a little different today! My first product review! I was sent two essential oils from a company named Natural Products Inc., to review, and I am excited to share my experience with you all. I strive to present you with the best content as well as provide you with natural alternatives for life’s everyday tasks. I received a bottle of Lemon Essential Oil and a bottle of Peppermint Essential Oil and have been using both for about a week. They are 100% pure oils, so you don't have to worry about any added ingredients. They are 4 fluid ounce glass bottles, which come with dropper style applicators which I absolutely love. Makes for easier usage and well as less wasted product!
First things first, these oils smell amazing!! I could smell them through the box and plastic that they were packaged in during shipping. I am a sucker for fragrance, and just having these on my bathroom counter I can smell them every time I walk in.
If you have been following my blog for a while, you know I suffer from acne and acne scaring. I have tried numerous products over the years and have finally gotten my acne breakouts under control. Now that the breakouts aren't an issue, I've decided to focus on the scaring. A few years ago, I read that lemons and Vitamin C were great ways to fade acne scars. I actually used lemons on my face for a while, but that proved to be expensive and a bit messy. This 100% Cold Pressed Lemon Essential Oil is a great alternative because of the astringent properties it possesses as well as the Vitamin C. Vitamin C is a natural skin lightener because the acid in contains prevents melanin production, which in the case of fighting acne scars that is exactly what we want. Some research has shown that it focuses on those problem areas and does not lighten the normal skin around it. (I would suggest further reading before using on your skin, or contact a dermatologist before use) I wash my face per usual every morning, and put about 4 drops of the lemon oil in the palms of my hands. I then apply it to my cheeks, chin, and forehead. MAKE SURE TO AVOID THE AREA AROUND YOUR EYES. Now it is a little too soon for me to notice results because it isn't a fast process, but I definitely enjoy how easy this product makes things. People have mentioned that my skin is looking clearer, which is definitely a promising sign!!! I also like knowing exactly what is going onto my skin, which in this case is 100% Cold Pressed Lemon Essential Oil.
Now for all of my readers who are focused more natural hair, this 100% Peppermint Oil is definitely something you would enjoy! I have wanted to use this essential oil for a while now, specifically because I work out all the time. It is a great alternative to washing your hair everyday if you tend to sweat a lot, as do I. A couple drops will fight any odor you might have from product buildup as well as make your scalp feel a little cleaner. I like it better than the dry shampoo I've been using for the past few years because it doesn't leave your hair feeling greasy or weighed down. Now it isn't a cleanser or clarifier, but it does help with the odor. Peppermint oil itself is said to exhibit scalp and growth stimulating properties. So it could potentially aid in hair growth for my natural hair ladies looking for natural hair growth aids.
It is a pungent oil, so it is recommended that you dilute it before use. I use this 2-3 times a week, and use 5-6 drops and massage it into my scalp before bed. (I use my normal nighttime routine which you can find on the blog) I don’t use much more than that because this oil does give you the “tingling sensation” and with it being a strong oil I take precautions. I also add a few drops of this oil to my oil mixtures that I used to seal my hair after each wash, just for its fragrant properties. Also, this 100% Peppermint Oil can be used as aromatherapy. I am a huge fan of Peppermint oils being used around the house. A few drops in any type of oil warmer creates the feeling of a spa, and I love it!
So, all in all I would have to say I love these oils! I love that they are multipurpose and fulfill multiple tasks. I love that I know exactly what is in them, and that they are easy to use. They are a lot bigger than most essential oils I’ve come across, which is a plus as well. I definitely suggest these oils to anyone who is interested! Make sure you click either of the links in this post to check them out! Disclaimer: I received these products complimentary from Natural Products Inc., for testing and reviewing purposes
